The philosophy of the left -- The end justifies the means
There are only two situations regarding human interaction where this statement can apply:
1). When defending yourself against violent harm
2). When caring for children who are not yet old enough to understand on their own
Politically progressive people make many more exceptions than the two stated above in order to justify their means to an end...the left always uses unreasonable rationalizations to explain their actions.
Progressives are naturally petty, focusing on trivial items - always exhibiting un-adult behavior. They demand that everyone play by their rules … Let them take their ball and go away.

If you start with a false premise, all conclusions that follow are also false.
The left believes that human nature continues to "progress"
(especially since the 1920's, the start of the era of modern 'Progressive thought' [SIC]).
The right argues that basic human nature has not advanced since people first adopted civilization.
Both sides will concede that human nature does indeed change from time to time, but to say that change is the equivalent of progress creates a false premise.

"in order to form a more perfect union..." The key word from our Constitution's preamble is "more". In my mind the Founders were many things, both good and bad but 1st and foremost they were realists: they recognized that human interactions have always had flaws. It was self evident that "perfect" human relations have never existed except in mankind's imagination. Thus they sought a "more perfect union."
The USA's founding was an attempt to promote civility and was based on the concept that it's citizens have a Right to believe whatever they care to yet be obligated and held accountable for the harm that their beliefs may impose on others.
The ultimate goal of the left is to eliminate that right and obligation, thus creating a class of subjects that cannot distinguish right from wrong, truth from lies and good from evil.
The left rejects the Founder's ideas and is willing to use force to create what they perceive is perfection.
Much of the world still yearns for and has always embraced the idea of freedom without responsibility, which is a mistaken belief and is impossible to achieve.
Few understand the difference between reason and rational.
